Janice Carolyn “Jan” Speer, 78, of Lexington, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in her home on April 13, 2025, in her hometown of Lexington.
Born on May 24, 1946, in Lexington to James Clyde Scott and Lula Mae Crownover Scott, Jan grew up surrounded by the values of hard work and community. Her parents were the founders of Scott’s BBQ on Highway 412 in 1962—a beloved local establishment that continues to serve the community more than …
