In loving memory of my mother, Janice "Nana" Smith, who passed away on September 20, 2022. She was the devoted and loving mother of Joy Langdon and Nana of Kelsey Langdon. (And mother to all of her "adopted" children). She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. My mother was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. My mother was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Growing up, Mom was always there for me, whether I needed help with my homework or just a shoulder to cry on. She instilled in us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. My mother was a true role model who we will always look up to. She was a single mother who worked and went to college to support her family. Later, she helped raise her granddaughter, Kelsey, She never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. She worked years in the mental health field offering her care and expertise to those who needed it most. Her friends and all who knew her, understand how her smile could light up the room and how she just had a special way of bringing comfort to all of those around her. Mom, you will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Her wishes are to be cremated and a celebration of her life will be planned for a later date.
