It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Janice "Jan" Macleen, a beloved member of our community who departed this world on January 23, 2024. Janice was born on August 12, 1941, and during their 82 years of life, they touched many hearts with their witty, bright, generous, and compassionate persona.

Janice, who was affectionately known as Jan, manifested an admirable love for literature. This love stemmed from an enduring appreciation for storytelling, which was further expressed through their passion for reading books. Indeed, Janice was a constant advocate for the power of literature.

Physically active and a lover of nature, Janice was a frequent sight on the hiking trails. They also had a deep affinity for horseback riding, an activity that brought them immense joy and satisfaction. These hobbies not only embodied Janice's zest for life but also mirrored their free-spirited nature and desire for adventure and exploration.

Janice is survived by their cherished spouse, Mikel, and their loving sons Jeff and Larry. They leave behind fond memories with their grandchildren Alicia  and Alexis, and great grandchild, Jaxson, among many other friends and family members. Janice was a devoted partner, a supportive parent, and a doting grandparent, whose absence will be deeply felt.

Janice's enduring kindness, humanity, and vivacity will continue to resonate among the people whose lives they touched. May their soul find eternal peace.
