Janice's obituary
In loving memory of Ms. Janice "Lynn" Cuthbert-DeVries, fondly known as Lynn, who was born on April 23, 1964 and passed away tragically on August 1, 2025 from carbon monoxide poisoning due to a blocked exhaust on her gas dyer . Her vibrant spirit and joyful presence will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Lynn, the first child of Russell DeVries and his first wife Janet Cuthbert, was the epitome of vivacity, her personality as effervescent as a champagne bubble. She was outgoing and always at the center of social gatherings; her laughter, kindness, and warmth drawing people to her. A social butterfly in the truest sense, Lynn had an extraordinary ability to make anyone feel welcomed and cherished.
Her artistic spirit was demonstrative of her creative and imaginative mind. She saw the beauty in everything and had a distinct and unique sense of style in her many painted works. Her art was an extension of her personality - vibrant, expressive, and full of life. Lynn's paintings, infused with her love for life, continue to inspire and fascinate, promising to live on, just as the memory of her will.
The void left by her passing is immeasurable, but so too, is the joy and love that she brought into our lives. She will be remembered not by how she passed, but by how she lived - a life full of enthusiasm, zest, and unwavering kindness. Our hearts are heavy with the loss, but we are comforted by the knowledge that her spirit will continue to shine in all the lives she touched. In accordance with her wishes and beliefs, a candlelight vigil will be held in her memory on Saturday August 30th at 1:30 pm, followed by Mass on Sunday August 31st at 6 pm.
