It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Janice "Janny" Jackson, a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend, who left this world peacefully on May 29, 2025. Janice, a beacon of kindness and warmth, was born on February 19, 1954. Known fondly as 'Janny' by her friends and family, she was a woman who preferred to be referred to by her given name, a testament to her straightforward nature and respect for personal identity.
Janice is survived by her sister, Mary Parks; her children, Evanda Lester and Horace Parks; her cousin, Gail Simmons; her uncle, Ray Rollins; her son-in-law, Tony Lester; and her grandsons, Jason and Eric Lester. She was predeceased by her mother, Helen Parks and Father Johnny Parks.
Throughout her life, Janice was a beacon of love, compassion, and generosity. She was known for her warm, kind, and friendly demeanor. Her presence always brought comfort to those around her. Her philosophy of life revolved around caring for one another, a lesson she instilled in her children and grandchildren as well.
Janice dedicated her life to serving others. She volunteered at an organization called Feeding the Homeless, living her belief that acts of kindness, no matter how small, can have a significant impact on the world. It was in these selfless acts of service that Janice found her calling, leaving behind a legacy of kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
In her passing, Janice leaves behind not just a void that can never be filled but also a legacy that will forever remind us of the importance of kindness, compassion, and care. Her light will continue to glow in our hearts as we endeavor to live by the principles she embodied. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.
