Janet's obituary

June 19, 1982 – March 21, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Janet Marie Whitcomb, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Janet passed away on February, 2025, while bravely giving birth to her daughter, Zoey Whitcomb, a daughter who will forever carry her mother's love and spirit while in a coma after a car accident

Born on June 19, 1982, Janet grew up with a passion for education, kindness, and helping others. She graduated with a degree in Education from the University of Delaware in 2014 and went on to become a beloved professor at the same institution, where her dedication to her students and her field was clear to all who knew her. Janet was deeply respected for her commitment to academic excellence and her passion for making a positive impact in the lives of those around her.

Beyond her career, Janet was a tireless advocate for those in need. She devoted much of her time volunteering with organizations that provided food, shelter, and care for the homeless, showing a compassion and selflessness that was felt by many.

Janet is survived by her loving husband, deshawn Jackson; her precious daughter, Zoey Whitcomb, who will grow up knowing the strength and love her mother gave her; her devoted parents, Warren Whitcomb and Susan Whitcomb; and her dear brothers Kevin and Christopher Whitcomb. Janet’s love, warmth, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at [insert details for service] on [date and time]. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to [charity/organization of your choice] in Janet’s memory, supporting causes close to her heart.

Janet’s legacy of love, kindness, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will forever be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family, her students, and her community.
