Aunt Marcele was a beautiful loving person. She will definitely be missed but has left an incredible legacy of a beautiful loving family. I’m so inspired by their strength throughout her work these past few years and even in having to say goodbye to her rest in peace Aunt Marcele and God bless you.

Prayers and hugs! You and Marcelle were such a big part of our daily lives that if left a hole when you moved to Nashville...We were proud and happy for you to have more opportunities...but me, momma and Chris still missed all of you!
Where do I begin? There were so many years of good memories of Karen, Lee Anne and Marcelle living on Plum Street in Hayti Mo...My momma and Marcelle grew up together in Wardell, Mo...I knew them when they lived on Highway 84 across the tracks,..then they built a brand new house across the street from ours...For years me, Karen, Lee Anne would play baseball, wiffle ball, basketball, catch lightning bugs, and play spot light with the other kids in the neighborhood...We had the classic neighborhood experience of drinking water from the water hose, playing until the street light came on and talking through the bedroom screen window, when one of us could not come out and play... We caught the school bus together every morning and afternoon...Mr Ledbetter was our driver...We attended Hayti First Baptist Church ...many times riding that white and red church bus and eating doughnuts from Mr Crites Donut Shop...We attended church camp in Van Buren together...walking down the long trail to Devil’s Cave...Please bare with me...there are so many good memories ..I can ‘t list them all...Marcelle was like a second mother to me...often times taking us to the JOY JOY on Saturday nights and the ball park during the summer...She and momma were Girl Scout Troop Leaders, and they took our troop to Liberty Land...My little brother, Chris was always running off, and momma would get in her 70s cream colored Buick, combing the neighborhood for him...only to find him many times eating super at Marcelle’s dinner table...My mother would be frantic! One of my favorite memories of Marcelle was when she was in the local celebrities Anything Goes field games...a younger Marcelle was able to clear an obstacle course in nothing flat! I could write a book! But I won’t...I NEVER dreamed the hardest part of childhood was growing up! I love you Karen and Lee Anne...Thank you Marcelle...you were the best neighbors ever, in that you also became a part of our family...I love and will miss you terribly, Marcelle Russell!

I only got to meet Marcele once, back when Karen and I were in college and I went with her to Hayti for a visit. She was sweet, kind and funny, and obviously a great mom to have raised such great, strong women like Karen and Lee Anne. All my love to the family.
