This memorial donation honors Jan’s legacy of generosity, faith, and global compassion. Each year, land in Montana was dedicated to planting a crop whose proceeds were given to support efforts to grow hope around the world. With the encouragement and support of the congregation, the harvest from this land helped provide resources to people in other countries, empowering them to grow their own food and sustain their communities. This work extended far beyond a single field—it became a meaningful way to nourish lives, promote self-sufficiency, and share care across borders.

Jan’s commitment to service and education is also reflected in her deep connection to Goshen College, where she graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and later taught from 1970 to 1972. Her lasting impact on the field of nursing and on future generations of caregivers is honored through a nursing wing named in her recognition.
