The Huskins were my first (still longest running) friends I made moving to Abilene 15 years ago.  I was fortunate enough to start working with Jessica and Janet when I first arrived in 2010....back in them Loft & Roberto's days!  There were instant connections with "my hippie flower child" Jess and her sweet, yet deliciously unfiltered mommy, fondly nicknamed "Damnet Janet" since day one 😊 Over the years, I've got to share so many Huskin experiences,  from being Janet's hairstylist since 2018 and her neighbor the last five years. And now I wanna share my most favorite Damnet Janet story of all! I will forewarn that it's a spicy one, but it's the best one and she always laughed when I brought it up so I know she's already laughing now 😅

When I first moved to Abilene, Janet & Jess knew my boyfriend at the time lived in San Angelo, and I had not gotten to visit him in three months.

So they decided to invite me along on a day trip to San Angelo with them SPECIFICALLY to drop me off at the boyfriend's house while they went shopping, cuz they my girls like that!! Janet telling me how cute I looked all dressed up to see him the whole drive 😁

What makes this story so hilarious and so great is when you do some simple math!  That day trip to San Angelo was March 17, 2010.  And my beautiful daughter Melora will be 15 years old in December!!

Since Damnet Janet organized the trip and literally chauffeured me to pregnancy,  I always told her she was partly responsible!! And while we joked about her hand in making me a mother, I hope she also knew how grateful I am to her for it! To her and Jess! Both of whom where there the day Melora was born, bringing crocheted gifts we still have and cherish. They helped me start my own family while treating me as their own!

My spicy knocked up story got sappy sweet but I think that's even more like Janet so I'm okay with that❤️

Thank you to all the Huskin Crew, for intertwining us into your family and sharing your badass mom with me all these years. And Damn it Janet, I can't wait to see you better on other side!

Dear Jillian and Huskin Family,

We are truly sorry for your loss. Though we did not know Janet personally, we know she was a beautiful person through the children that she raised.

So sorry. Rest easy Lovey. We love you and your beautiful family!!🫂🫂🫂🙏
I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom’s love, kindness, and spirit will live on in the many lives she touched. May her memory be a blessing and bring you comfort in the days ahead. Holding you in my thoughts and prayers.
She was such a special person and we connected instantly. Her legacy will continue to live on through her children and grand babies .
My condolences to you and your family at this time
Janet and I became friends in 1996, she was my basket lady, and I also quilted, having this in common, we decided to get our sisters together for a weekend in Ballinger for quilting, little did we know, that Jacki and my sister Lauren were friends! We had such a great weekend. Our friendship grew even more over the years. I will miss you Janet, thank you for being my friend.

I learned so much attending Janet's quilting classes.  THEN  I got totally " addicted" buying Longaberger baskets --love every one and use them all the time.  AND I bought an entire set of Longaberger dishes.  But during the years collecting Longaberger we have created a fun friendship .

So much love coming your way. Your sorrow is shared.
