Jane's obituary
Jane was born on September 22, 2010 in Jesup, Georgia, to parents Jason Liller and Darien Flood. After relocating to the Hagerstown area, Jane attended Maugansville Elementary School, where she was known for her signature smile, princess dresses and matching unicorn headbands. Jane loved creative writing and was a student of the arts, so it was no surprise that she was accepted into Western Heights Middle School's Magnet Program for Creative Writing. She also enjoyed sharing her beautiful voice as a member of the WHMS Choir. Her plan was to attend Barbara Ingram School for the Arts, then to attend college to study music.
Jane never knew a stranger. She took a special interest in befriending new students, those who didn't seem to fit in, and especially those who didn't seem to have any friends at all. She was quick to remind others that "everyone needs at least one good friend."
Upon her arrival to heaven, Jane was greeted by a few family members who passed on before her, including her very special "Aunt Sissy", Erica Liller, who preceded her in death three years ago; her grandfather, well-known folk singer, songwriter and environmentalist "Okefenokee Joe", Richard "Dick" Flood; and her grandmother Annette Flood, who died only two days before Jane.
Jane is survived by many family members who will forever speak of her smile and her sparkle, including her parents, father and stepmother Jason and Kimberly Liller, along with stepbrother Matthew Rudy and stepsister Amelia Rudy, Hagerstown (Md.); her mother, Darien Flood, along with half-brother and stepsister Myles and Autumn Morley, Newville (Pa.); paternal grandparents Michele and Michael Fox, Hagerstown (Md.); maternal grandfather, Dondi Flood, Baxley (Ga.); paternal uncle and aunt Jesse and September Liller, along with cousins "Tillie" and "Hank" Liller, Madison (WI); maternal aunt Dashonda Bernsdorf, along with cousins Isabella and Christina Rojas, Abilene (TX). She also leaves behind three family cats: Rocky, Peanut Butter and Hank, and Penelope, her ball python.
If Jane could offer one bit of advice, she would say "Hug your kids; talk to them; then really talk to them. Never let them feel alone."
The family would like to invite all of Jane's family and those who loved, supported and were her genuine friends to join a celebration of life. A memorial service will be held on June 1, 2024, 4:00 pm at Hilltop Christian Fellowship, 12624 Trinity Church Drive, Clear Spring, MD 21722, with Pastors John and Melissa Miller officiating. Feel free to contact the family to send flowers or with any questions.
