I was very saddened to have learned of Jane's passing. She was such an elegant, fun woman! I called her on her last birthday in August and was so happy to speak with her, even though the house sounded full of people celebrating her, she took several minutes out of her party to speak with me and catch up. A true, graceful woman. Jane was such a big part of my fathers life, John Garrigan, he really had good times with her. I'll never forget the "road trip" we all took to Long Island to go to my brother Brians wedding! So much fun! I will miss Jane tremendously. Rest peacefully lovely lady.
My friendship with Jane goes back many years, beginning at a Cohasset Church Circle Dinner. When we lived in Scituate, my husband Dave and I enjoyed dinners. lobster parties, etc. with Jane and John. After our move to N.C., Jane and John came south several times to visit us and then Jane's beautiful Cohasset home became a second home for us on our visits back to MA.. I will miss my dear friend Jane and will treasure my memories of her. Bette Nelson - Richmond, VA
I will always remember my big sister, Jane. Even though we were four years apart in age, when she went off to college, I missed her terribly. When she married and had children, our family grew and I was blessed with becoming an aunt. I will always treasure those fun days we all had at the Jersey Shore in Brielle and on Manasquan Beach. I will miss you forever big sis. You and your family will always be an important part of my life. Much love forever, Nancy.
So, Mrs. Ellis was always a love. Welcoming, compassionate, light hearted and sweet. I’m not sure I ever saw her without a smile on her face. I loved that woman deeply. I’m grateful for having had her in my life, particularly in our high school years. The only resentment I have is I was the first person in the Ellis family to be grounded! Hilarious story and I admit, she did the right thing! Rest in peace, Mrs Ellis. I love you and you’ll remain in my heart forever. ❤️
I had the pleasure of being Jane’s hairdresser for 27+years . Always a beautiful lady inside and out .. I loved her story’s about her family ,she was so proud of all of them . When she wasn’t able to drive to the salon anymore her friend and aid Donna was there to help .. eventually I went to her house to do her hair . She was always so grateful I had come to her .. but I was the lucky one to have as a friend and client .. she will be missed .❤️🙏
So sorry for your loss. My first memories of Jane were when she occasionally came to watch the grandchildren on Watering Lane and she would show me all of the “projects” she brought to work on while the kids were in school. She was a lot of fun! Susan (Christopher)
