Jan's obituary
Jan Kyrstein was taken too soon on December 11, 2023 in an unfortunate motor vehicle incident in Salmon Valley, BC.
Born April 25, 1964 in Odense, Denmark, Jan moved to Canada with his parents at 3 years of age, starting out in Acton, ON and became a Canadian Citizen in 1974. Jan moved to BC in 1980 with his parents where he then moved around the province based on his work opportunities during his adult years (Mackenzie, Prince George, Victoria, Trail, Fort St. John - as well as places in AB and SK), mainly in Project Management roles.
Jan is survived by his three daughters (Freya, Zoe, and Tyra), his two granddaughters (Ursa and Zeya), his parents (John and Anne), his sister (Debbie), his fiance (Anne), his nieces and nephews, extended family, and many friends he made along the way. Jan is predeceased by his grandparents and sister (Jeanette) - may they all be lovingly reunited again.
Jan enjoyed exploring the outdoors - whether it was hiking, hunting, fishing, or riding his bike. He also loved technology and always had to have the latest gadgets. He was most excited about recently becoming a grandfather (aka Morfar) to two beautiful granddaughters and was looking forward to spoiling them. Jan’s sense of humour, his laugh, and love will forever be remembered and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
There will be a Memorial Service held at Bethel Funeral Chapel (5605 27 St, Vernon, BC) on April 13, 2024 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family - https://alzheimer.ca/en
