Jan's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. Jan Krok, who passed away on November 8, 2023. Born on August 9, 1958, Jan led a fulfilling life characterized by kindness, caring, faithfulness, and honesty. He was a beloved father, husband, grandfather, and a cherished member of the community.
Jan is survived by his dedicated wife, Elzbieta Krok, and his loving children, Joanna Spottiswood and Matthew Krok. His legacy of love continues with his son-in-law, Adam Spottiswood, and daughter-in-law, Julia Myrda. His influence on his adoring grandchildren, Maya, Thomas, and Charlotte Spottiswood, was invaluable.
Jan was an active attendee at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. A lover of nature and outdoor activities, he frequently enjoyed traveling, camping, and hiking. His favorite recreational activities were volleyball, tennis, cycling, listening to music, and working with computers. His love for travel was well-known, often visiting Canadian Provincial and National Parks as well as US National Parks. Numerous lakes, mountains and canyons were his preferred destinations. He also travelled extensively in Europe with his wife, visiting places such as Poland, Greece, Italy, Germany, Austria, Czechia, Hungary, and Turkey to name a few. He also loved the sun in Mexico and Cuba.
Jan’s career saw him making significant contributions as a front line essential worker, delivering COVID vaccines throughout the pandemic. This achievement is a testament to his selflessness and dedication to community service. His favorite life lesson to impart was the value of gratitude for the beautiful country we live in. His legacy is indeed one of kindness and generosity.
His life was an epitome of compassion and dedication, and his absence will be deeply felt by family, friends, and all who knew him. As we mourn Jan's loss, we also celebrate the remarkable life he lived. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Rest in peace, Jan Krok.
