Jamil's obituary
Jamil Rudolph Luckett, of Washington, D.C. passed away on January 4, 2022. Jamil was born on February 15, 1964 to Genevieve and Jimmy Luckett. He was the eldest of four siblings.
Jamil attended Friendly High School where he was in the Honor Society. He was also President of the Student Government Association until he graduated in 1982. Jamil was a born leader. As a Junior High School student at Lord Baltimore he was invited to the White House by then President Gerald Ford who presented Jamil an award for his Academic Excellence. Prior to attending Oberlin College where he earned his degree in Government/Political Science, Jamil was employed by the May Company in Akron, Ohio as a Retail Manager. During that time he had aspirations of becoming a Fashion Designer. Jamil was a beautiful free spirit. He traveled to London, Paris, Amsterdam and Costa Rica prior to residing in San Francisco for several years. His love for Music and Fine Arts truly made him a "modern day Renaissance"man.
