It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jamie Swider, 45, of Columbus, Indiana on January 2, 2024. Jamie was born on March 22, 1978 in Columbus, Indiana to parents Dale and Jill Swider.

Jamie graduated from IUPUC in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in management/accounting and a minor in psychology. She went on to work for Columbus Regional Hospital in the Shared Services Center, and later as a Staff Accountant for Circle K.

Jamie was known for being a dedicated mother and friend, always caring and kind to those around her. She was always there to lend a helping hand to those who needed it. Jamie was a jokester and enjoyed making people laugh. She was an avid animal lover and loved spending time with her four-legged best friends. Jamie had a stubborn streak that showed her determination and resilience in the face of challenges.

Jamie is survived by her parents; children, Ally (Cody) Starnes and Trent Tyree; significant other, Jason Maxwell and his daughter, Ella Maxwell; granddaughter, Karter Starnes; siblings Laura Button and Spencer (Paige) Roberts; and her beloved dogs, Remi and Annie. Jamie was preceded in death by her cherished grandmother, Mary Sue Hedrick and grandfather, Dale Edward Swider.

A memorial service to celebrate Jamie's life will be held at The Crump Theater on Sunday 1/14/24. Open house 1pm-4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society, a cause close to Jamie's heart. May her memory be a source of comfort to those who loved her and may she rest in peace.
