Big Cuz,
Jamesetta Poochie Dixon š
We š You More Than Words Can Ever Say
You've been by my side since birth
We've had our ups & downs for all that's worth
I saw you bring 4 children into being,
You were there to witness all of mine
In the interim we did a lot of praying
Baby Bye, I know that you are up in Heaven Shaking your head and agreeing!

You baby sat me and watched me grow into
a very spirited adult,
You held my hand and comforted me
Even when we both knew things were my fault.
You watched out for me on countless occasions,
Though we were a decade apart
You were more like a big sister in every situation.
Back in the day when you came to visit in Da Greens you braided my hair into cornrows and when I wore Jheri Curls you gave me glittery colorful hair combs.
You were my link to fashion and trends
You always let me tag along with you and your boyfriends.
We always marveled over us both being two
August Leo's.
You told everyone in earshot of how
you wanted to live to be one hundred
years old,
You were one of a kind
When God made you He obliterated the mold!
When the two of us got together
Vibing to music was our proverbial elixir
I can't recall too many occasions when this didn't occur.
You fascinated me with your account of dancing on Soul Train when it was filmed in The Chi and attending the world renowned Cooley High.
Poochie, you've weathered many storms
And you know that I've seen first hand,
How you loved on your children and grands.
When folk were working my last nerve you were the first to say to me 'Doe Doe' 'Haters Make it Greater for you later'.
When I sulked for too long,
In this life we were forever inextricably linked and though we've parted for a minute we're still on the same algorithm,
Cuz your motto was 'it is what it is', let it go, keep living and forgive them'.
You always told me to put my big girl undies on.
Such a Fighter, Protector and a Victor true to our astrological birth sign,
Yet sweet and nurturing as the day is long traits that are very hard to find.
For so many years your dwelling was my refuge,
When I felt like life's challenges were too huge.
When I lost my way a few years ago and began to falter,
You looked me directly in my eyes and said, 'Doe Doe' there is a God don't stop approaching the altar.
Poochie, I would have never fathomed sitting here writing these words on any given day,
But I will end this with: We love you more than words can ever say. š
