Personal note from Cathy

6/8/23
Jim and I met on a dating website in early 2012. We met in person for the first time on March 18th. On March 23rd, my apartment caught fire and Jim came to get me. He brought me home with him and I've been here ever since. We were married on September 13th, 2013 and I've never regretted a minute of our time together. I never believed in soul mates until I met him, but that's what we are.

He was diagnosed with prostate cancer 3 years ago. Shortly after, we found out that it had metastasized into his bones. In late March he caught pneumonia and went to the hospital. We were told that he had about a year left. When he came home, he was much weaker and had trouble getting up and walking around. He was admitted to the hospital again just over a week ago. That's when they told us that he was too weak to continue the chemotherapy and he only had about two months left. He's home now with hospice care.

It's so very hard to see him in this condition, but I refuse to give up one second of the time we have left together. I'm going to do everything I can to make him as happy as I can right up until the end.
