James's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James "Scooter" Yeandle, who preferred to be called Jim on June 11, 2023. Born on February 23, 1957, James lived a life full of passion, strength, and a healthy dose of stubbornness. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones and the community.

Jim is survived by his loving spouse, Catherine, with whom he shared a beautiful but much too short journey. Their love story began on March 18, 2012, culminating in their marriage just a year later in 2013.

He was predeceased by his father, Harold, his mother, Margaret, and his sister, Margaret.

A man of simple pleasures, Jim was an avid sports fan, cheering on his favorite teams, Syracuse and the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed savoring his wife's chicken soup, meatloaf, and barbecued chicken, sipping on Hawaiian Punch and coffee, and reading any book he could get his hands on. Black was his favorite color, which perfectly matched his strong and bold personality.

Jim was also passionate about giving back to the community. One of his favorite causes was the Steven Swan Humane Society in Utica, NY.

In honor of Jim's memory, and in lieu of flowers, the family has set up a fund to help with the costs associated with his passing. Donations can be made at the following URL: https://everloved.com/life-of….

As we celebrate the life and legacy of James "Scooter" Yeandle, we are reminded of the indomitable spirit and love he shared with all those around him. He will be forever missed, but his memory will endure in the hearts of his family and friends.
