James's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James "2 Shades Jay" Yeager. Also known as 2 Shades Jay, James preferred to go by his given name. He was born on Aug 20, 1965, and peacefully left our world on Aug 15, 2023.

James was a man of many shades and hues. He was full of life, loved his music, and wanted the world to hear it as well. His favorite color pink reflected his colorful, free-spirited nature and his personality was full of surprises. For James, bacon and eggs and apple crown were more than just food and drinks, they were the simple pleasures he reveled in.

Despite suffering from mental illness, James never allowed it to interfere with his relationship with God. He may have been confused about many things, but his faith was unwavering. A follower of all musical genres, he found solace in his faith and used it to paint a positive picture of the world. James loved watching the news and playing casino games, and he enjoyed fishing in his free time.

James was predeceased by his loving mother, Viola Yeager (née Brown), devoted father, William Yeager, brother Donald "Donnie" Yeager, and grandson, Anthony Sanchez. He is survived by his children, Diane Garcia, James Yeager, and Shawn Yeager; his siblings Billy Yeager and Eva Yeager; and his grandchildren Meloni Dean, Marcus Dean, Natalee Vanvliet, Yuriah Vanvliet, Kaisyn Yeager, Jordan Yeager, Aubrey Yeager, Naomi Yeager, and David Chavez.

He was known for his kind-hearted nature and his positive outlook on life. Even in his final moments, James was eager to help others and was often the first to lend a hand. He firmly believed in following your dreams and never giving up, a mantra that he propagated to all those who knew him.

James' legacy is one defined by his generosity and his unwavering optimism. He was a guiding star for many, lighting up the path for those who found themselves lost in darkness. In 2021, he moved to a new place, taking his love for life and music with him. His passing leaves an irreplaceable void, but his bright spirit will forever shine on in the lives of those he touched.
