It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Jim Yates at the age of 73, on Friday, August 19th, 2022 due to heart failure. A loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, grandpa and dedicated friend to all who knew him. He was born in Big Spring Texas but spent most of his life in Concord, CA where he graduated from Clayton Valley High School in 1967. He later earned a Fine Arts Degree from Chico State. Jim was initiated to Local 342 as a steamfitter on 2/6/75 and worked in the pipe trades for 47 years.

Jim is preceded in death by his father, Arthur E. Yates and mother, Dorris J. Yates. He is survived by his wife Susan, brother Terry (Dena), stepson Mike, daughter Debbie (Kohn), his 2 beloved grandsons Miles and Bishop, niece Meghan and great niece Isabella.

Jim was a gifted artist who loved to golf, tinker in the yard and meet new people. He will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held 10/29/22 at The Concord Historical Society from 12-3PM. 1928 Clayton Rd. Concord, CA 94519
