With great sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James Williams-Nelson. James, a remarkable individual known for his warmth, kindness, and generosity, was born on August 23, 1997, and departed from this world too soon on December 3, 2023.

A cherished son, brother, and friend, James was a beacon of humility and grace, perpetually emanating an aura of positivity that touched all who had the privilege of knowing him. He believed deeply in the virtue of humility, often sharing the lesson that true greatness lies in one's ability to remain humble and grounded. This wisdom he generously imparted will continue to resonate among those he has left behind.

James was a man of action and achievement. As a testament to his hard work and dedication, he was named the valedictorian of his class in 2020 at Wayne State University. This crowning achievement stood as a symbol of his unwavering commitment to excellence and his dedication to furthering his knowledge.

James leaves behind his doting mother, Alexis Hurd, and loving siblings Avante Nelson and Janis Williams-Nelson. His absence will leave a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will live on through the memories shared and the love that he bestowed upon those around him.
