James's obituary

James J. Wessel, known as "Jimmy" by his friends and family, was born on July 10th 1992. He was a resident of Eatonville WA  prior to his death on July 10, 2025.

Jimmy attended high school in Curlew, WA and later pursued training at Job Corps in Anaconda, MT.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Violet; his siblings, Joey, Lacey, and Isabella; his mother, Kenna as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Jimmy was a friend to whomever he met and his "found family" was vast and very meaningful in his life.

An avid lover of the outdoors, James found joy in farming, music, and was a talented mechanic. He spent much of his life wandering from place to place, his favorite place being anywhere in the woods with his family and friends. He said that some of his best times were spent around the camp fire with friends who later became his family. He had expressed always wanting to make a large community with his loved ones in the mountains one day.

Most knew Jimmy as a goofy, loving, and hard working person who loved helping
others. From his youth he was always trying to build something better for himself and others; that reflected in his time attending Anaconda Job corps where he studied hard to become a diesel mechanic. His hard work didn't stop there either, from providing firewood to the community to helping friends build their own homes, he was always willing to help anyone in need.

Jimmy experienced much love in his life and is survived by his daughter, Violet, who he claimed as "the most amazing tiny person." He was frequently amazed at how much she would grow and express herself. Jimmy would always say how proud of Violet he was, how much he loved her, and how important being a good father was to him. He'll be watching over her from beyond with the same loving look he had when he first held her in his arms.

Jimmy loved a lot in life and that didn't stop at people either. He loved sun peach tea, drum circles, barter faire, fixing old cars and machinery... More importantly, he loved living life in the moment and asked that he not have a funeral but a celebration of life where the people he loved would remember him fondly.  Jimmy wanted everyone who loved him not to cry for his death, but to share stories of the good times.

Thank you for all the memories.
