In Loving Memory of James Michael Wass

James Michael Wass, known to his friends and family as Jim, passed away on July 9, 2025, in Scottsdale, Arizona, due to complications from a ruptured gallbladder. Jim was born on March 27, 1955, in Mason City, Iowa. In November 2019, Jim relocated to Scottsdale, his wife Diane’s hometown.

Out of Jim’s desire to make everyone’s hair beautiful, he started Beauty Biz Supply. He enjoyed 25 years of success before changing directions. Jim’s passion to help people led him to working at St. Mary’s Food Bank until his passing. His free time was spent playing with Georgi and of course watching reruns of the Three Stooges!

Jim cherished family above all else. With his quick wit and great sense of humor, he naturally attracted many life long friends. He lived life on his own terms, with a deep passion for music and love of family. Whether through his business, his neighbors, or chance encounters with strangers, Jim valued every relationship and made each person feel important.

This wonderful man will be greatly missed as he touched so many hearts. Jim is survived by his beloved wife Diane and their four-legged little girl Georgi; sister and brother Jean Sheeley and John Wass; nieces Sarah and Samantha; Aunt Doris; cousins Steve, Susan, Dave and Dan; and many dear friends.

Per Jim’s wishes, his remains will be returned to Iowa, to be laid to rest near his mother and father. A celebration of his life will be held on September 26th, from 3pm to 7pm, at Lakeview Community Center, 10 N. Lakeview Drive, Clear Lake, Iowa.
