James (Jim) Buford Wales, 71, passed away on October 3, 2022, at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Debbie Wales, his children, Chris Wales, Shannon Baker, Deven Lyons, Tamara Wales, and his 7 grandchildren. Jim was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and grew up in Downey, California. He moved to the Coachella Valley in his twenties, where he met his wife, Debbie, and owned a pool business. Jim enjoyed painting, gardening, hiking, bike riding, swimming, visiting the beach, and debating politics. When he was younger, Jim enjoyed camping along the coast and taking in the solitude of the ocean from his yellow surfboard; his ashes will be spread in the ocean after a celebration of life ceremony.
