James Thomas Thornton, 63, of Cleveland, TX, passed away on April 18, 2022 of natural causes.

James was born in Houston on March 28, 1959, where he grew up in south Houston. He attended Doby High School class of 1977. He was always working on a project. He learned to weld and made that a profession for a while, until he found his love for truck driving. This career took him all over the US and eventually had him relocating to Florida, where he met Teresa.

His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned.

His legacy will live on through his wife Teresa Thornton, who blessed him with almost 28 years of marriage, his daughter Christie Spath, husband Bryan, granddaughter Sara Mendolia, sister Vicki (Thornton) Mertes and her husband Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Judy Thornton, and brother Keith Thornton.
