Jim's obituary
Jim was born in 1936 to William Christopher Stott and Mary Edna Stott in Atlanta Georgia. Jim was one of ten children and the third born.
After graduating from Fulton High School in 1954 he left a last will and testament for those students that followed him in his high school career of the following:
I, James Stott, being of sound mind and body, do hereby leave all my good times and adventures gathered in my high school career to any young fellow or cute young girl desiring thereof.
After graduation, he worked in different jobs including farmer, truck driver, mechanic, body man, businessman, elevator constructor, printing pressman, electrician, carpenter, plumber, building contractor, car salesman, realtor, and worked at Egleston Hospital in Atlanta plant maintenance, and worked at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta plant maintenance.
Jim met the love of his life Janet in 1966, and they wed in 1967, going on to have two children, James Stott Jr. and Jan Stott. The marriage brought two additional children from the first marriage of Janet - Richard Simpson and Gene Simpson.
His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of all his children and included his stepsons as his own family, and Janet and always supported them. Jim loved to spend time with his family and took them on trips to see places of interest Disney World, Yogi Bear Park, loved to take the children fishing, was the football coach for his son and baseball/softball coach for his son and daughter.
Jim loved to paint portraits of people and the outdoors. He also sketched people and outdoor places.
Everyone who knew Jim knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Jim was predeceased by his parents William and Mary Edna Stott, his sisters Betty and Della, and his children Gene Simpson and James Franklin Stott Jr. He is survived by his wife Janet Stott, his child Jan Stott, his grandchildren Joseph Stott and Nathaniel Stott and siblings Bill Stott, Tom Stott, Sarah Strickland, Mary Ozturk, Georgiana Guzman, Jack Stott and Joseph Stott plus many other nieces and nephews.
The family requests that donations in lieu of flowers be sent to their favorite charity of choice in memory of Jim. There will be a celebration of life on May 16 at 2pm eastern via Zoom by invitation.
