James's obituary

James “Jim” Samuel Shultis, 75 passed away April 18th in Tampa Florida. Jim, born January 21, 1950 in Pittsfield Massachusetts, was a graduate of Classical High School in Springfield Massachusetts and Brigham Young University in Provo Utah.

Jim was a proud civil servant working at the Social Security Administration for over 35 years. Ensuring the faithful execution of the laws and regulations governing distribution of benefits was more than just a job to Jim.

Baseball, food, history and classical music were Jim’s passions. Passions he loved to share with family, friends, and strangers. Jim loved the Red Sox of his birthplace and Mariners of his adopted home. He was overjoyed when the Red Sox won their first world series in his lifetime and died waiting for the Mariners to do the same.

Jim is survived by his children Ben Shultis, Sarah Holland, Nathan Shultis, Becky Worthington, 9 grandchildren, and Brother Steven Shultis.

A memorial will be held May 9th at Forest Park in Everett Washington, in lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Mariner’s Care, Rise 2 Greatness or another Charity of your choice.
