James's obituary

James M. Schulz, 77, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2019 in Irving, Texas. James, known to his friends and family as "Jim", was born February 8, 1942 in Salina, Kansas to Millard E. Schulz and Mary Viola Provost. Jim grew up the oldest of three children in Russell, Kansas. After graduating high school, Jim attended Kansas University in Lawrence, Kansas where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Education. After graduating college, he began his lengthy career in education by teaching Junior High History in Manhattan, Kansas. Eventually he found his way to Texas and earned his Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas and his administration credentials from Pan American University. In 1979 Jim accepted a position at Wayside Middle School as an Assistant Principal and eventually accepted the Principal position at Eagle Mountain Elementary.

During his time at Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, he welcomed two daughters: Diana and Stephanie. Jim retired from Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD after 20 years of service in 2001. After retirement, he moved to Westcliffe, Colorado where he lived with his wife Connie McIntyre Schulz until 2015, when they returned to live closer to family in Azle, Texas.

Jim was a proud Eagle Scout, an avid outdoors man and enthusiastic angler. During his time living in South Texas Valley, Jim discovered a love for Hobie Cat racing on the Gulf of Mexico. His love of boats and water transitioned nicely when he moved to the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw area. Jim was able to expand on his outdoors interests during his retirement in Westcliffe, Colorado.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents Millard E. Schulz and Mary Viola Provost Flood; brother George Allen Schulz; and a few cherished friends.

Jim is survived by his spouse Connie McIntyre Schulz; sister and her husband Heidi and Bill Layer; his daughters and their spouses Diana & Michael Frame, Stephanie & Corey Densk; step-daughters and their spouses Connie Michelle & Cody Dunagan, Stephanie & Nick Cervantes; grand children Sarah Cervantes, Liam Dunagan, Emmy Densk, Elias Frame and Finn Frame.

Jim's memorial service will be held at Saginaw United Methodist Church at 10:30 am on February 18, 2019.
