Jim's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James "Jim" Sartin, who left us on September 10, 2023. Born in 1962, Jim lived a life filled with warmth, generosity, and a keen sense of humor that touched the lives of many.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Olivia Patrick, his son-in-law, his sweet grandchildren, his cousin, Lynette, and his aunt, Lois. He is predeceased by his beloved mother, Marie. Jim's legacy will live on through his daughter and two grandchildren, who were the sheer joy and sunshine of his life.

His musical preference was as diverse as his personality; he held a fondness for Jimmy Buffet, Kenny Chesney, and Hootie & the Blowfish. As a staunch supporter of the Carolina Gamecocks, he was often found repping their swag.

Jim possessed a great love for the outdoors; the water in particular. Fishing was not just a recreational activity for him, but an escape. He cherished making memories with his daughter and looked forward to sharing his love for fishing with his grandkids.

He was a man of great character and kindness. His life was a testament to his belief that everyone is worthy of kindness, and to be forgiving and generous whenever possible.

His personality was an embodiment of warmth, generosity, and a great sense of humor. He was hardworking, friendly, forgiving, and selfless, often being the first to offer help when anyone was in need, even if it meant giving them the shirt off his back.

Those who knew Jim will remember him every time they see the ocean or cast a fishing line. His love for life and compassionate spirit will linger in every friendly smile they share. His memory and the times shared together will forever remain in their hearts.
