I was one of Dr. Saker's first patients when he started practicing in Lansing.  I was a severe asthmatic with many allergies.  He pulled me through many, many horrific asthma attacks and knew what to do to prevent scary attacks when I was a young child. I am thankful for his compassion and caring attitude. I am 69 years old now and wouldn't have survived this long if it wasn't for Dr. Saker. Thank you Dr. Saker.

Sorry it has taken so long to send this message.

I was a long time patient of Dr Saker's. He was an amazing story teller as well as a wonderful doctor. I couldn't believe it when he broke his leg skiing at his age. He will be missed
I send my sympathy to the entire family. Such an amazing man, whom I wish I could have known.

Dr. Saker was my allergist for many years. I am now 68 and no longer suffer from Hay fever because of the medicine he prescribed. My elementary years were so miserable every fall until it frosted because of it, but his expertise really helped me. Thank you, thank you!! I am sorry that you have lost him, but it sounds like he has had a full life. It was fun to read that he had 5 children. Cherish your memories.
I read Dr. Saker's Obituary this morning. As I worked in my sewing room I kept thinking about my many memories. I first saw him in his basement Lansing office when I was 30 years old. He changed my life when he suggested I avoid all yellow #5 dye........... my asthma quickly became manageable. He kidded me when I actually put on some weight. He said he was afraid I'd blow away coming across the parking lot!! That wouldn't be a concern today now 44 years later. When I got very sick one spring, he really wanted me to go to the hospital but he didn't think I'd go........so we touched basis daily. He was a very thoughtful, knowledgeable, and caring Doctor always pushing himself to stay on top of all the new treatments. I'm so thankful to have know him.
He talked very highly about his family... I'm sure he is really missed by all. Thinking about you as you are now learning how to get along without him.
I'm an 80 year old former patient of Dr. Saker. His office was on Hillsdale St, in downtown Lansing, Mi. (in the basement) when I first came to his and Dr. Flory's allergy office. I started getting injections from him in 1978 (something in my art classes were causing massive headaches and eye trouble) and he narrowed so much down to working with charcoal, newsprint, then dust, trees, cats etc. etc. I was so bummed when he moved to his new office off Jolly road, now a 1/2 hour drive, instead of 5 minutes. I do like Dr. RIdu Burton, she is very through and patient. But, I will never forget the twinkle of his eyes over his 1/2 glasses, and taking notes with his ink pen. He'd shake his finger at me, and say "now that cat of yours". Nor will I ever forget his saving my son's life in the early 1963, when he thought my baby had meningitis, his fever was 105, and I had to gown up and visit him in the old St. Lawrence hospital. Dr. Saker came there to care for him. My son took injections until he went off to college. Now my 62 year old daughter started injections two years ago with Dr. Burton. My mother, long dead was an allergist patient from age 70 till her placement in a nursing home. Your dad made such a difference in our live, I was proud to be his patient. It was fun to see him "drop in" occasionally at the new building to see if the doctors were doing it just right. That "twinkle was a killer"!!
