Jim's obituary
James “Jim” Ryan Knight passed away on January 6, 2023, at Braden River Rehabilitation Center in Bradenton, Florida, after a battle with cancer.
After Jim graduated from Castle High School Class of ‘88, he attended Murray State University. Jim moved to Florida in 1995. Jim loved to spend time with friends and family, battling with his brothers, John and Jake, in Fantasy Sports, golfing, and fishing.
Jim is survived by his parents Dudley and Ellen Knight, brothers, John (Stacey) Knight, Joe (Kari) Knight, and Jake Knight. Jim was also an uncle and survived by his nieces and nephews Christian Knight, Bryce Paul, and Jonathan (Kelsey) Paul, Annabelle Knight, MacKenzie Knight, Zoey Knight, Claire Knight, loving friend Dorothy Chay, and the love of his life, Tanya Shiver.
The family was in awe of his heroic and personal strength during his battle with cancer. At Jim’s request, his body was donated to Science Care for cancer research where he was cremated. His ashes will be interred at the family plot in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Evansville, Indiana, where a short memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 29, at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society to aid in colorectal cancer research.
