James's obituary
He met his wife Rebecca through church at age 19, and married 2 years later. It was love at first sight. This December would have marked 42 years of marriage together. In 1981 and 1983 they welcomed their 2 children, Mark and Michael. His wife and children were the most important part of his life. He raised his family in Maryland and relocated to California in 2001.
Doug was a devoted husband, father, and Pop Pop. He was a spiritual man and involved in many church activities. Doug loved his work and worked for Safeway/Vons for 30 years and Jons Marketplace for 14 years as a meat merchandiser. His interests include spending time with friends and family, being active in church, cars, swimming, and scuba diving. Anyone who knew Doug, knew he was the “meat” guy and barbequed the best steaks you could ever eat. Doug was the ultimate kid at heart, one of his favorite places being Disneyland, it was his happy place. Another huge passion was travel, he especially loved to see the world through cruising and I think it was because of his love for water. But for Doug, nothing could compare to his devotion and selflessness to his family. He loved being a husband, father, and Pop Pop.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Robins, son Mark Robins, son Michael Robins, daughter-in-law Michelle Robins, and grandsons Gabriel, Matthew and Noah.
James Douglas Robins was one of the kindest men you could ever meet. His love for the Lord and his family were immeasurable and he will be deeply missed by his family and all who know him.
