James's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Rivera, a beloved father, friend and pillar of our community. James was born on February 28, 1972, and left us too soon on May 17, 2025.
James is survived by his three children and fiancée. He was a wonderful father, demonstrating his love not just through words, but through actions and dedication. His greatest accomplishment, he would often say, were his three children, who brought him immeasurable joy and purpose.
A man of simple pleasures, James favored the refreshing taste of Angry Orchard Apple Hard Cider, and was particularly fond of green tea from boba shops. These favorites were often enjoyed while partaking in his preferred pastimes which included spending time with his family and watching football games. He was an avid supporter of the 49ers and his passion for the game was infectious.
James held a deep love for Hawaii, often referring to it as his favorite vacation spot. He found solace in the ocean, the beautiful sunsets, and the vibrant hues of the island. Blue, a color so prominent in his favorite landscapes, was unsurprisingly his favorite color.
James was a man with a kind heart, a funny bone, a stubborn streak, and a hard-working ethic. As generous as he was resilient, he was always the first to lend a helping hand and the last to seek help for himself.
James Rivera was more than the sum of his years, his laughter, his stubbornness, his hard work, and his generosity. He was a shining example of kindness, a source of endless humor, and an emblem of true determination. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. While our hearts are heavy, we can find comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on in the lives he touched and the lessons he left behind.
