Uncle Jimmy was my favorite blood uncle, albeit my only blood uncle.  My uncle LOVED to tell his stories!  What a sense of humor he had and a great heart. A man of many crowns I am sure.  I remember one time he was visiting us and we went to tour a local attraction called the Pagoda. I was very young, maybe 10 years old at most. I was getting over a cold and I coughed, which simultaneously released some gas, Uncle Jimmy laughed and laughed, not sure why he thought that was so funny, but he did.  I was a little embarrassed at the time, I guess that's why this memory stuck with me (that and the fact he retold this story over and over to everyone that would listen lol).  I hope to make it down Saturday to pay my respects.

Jimmy was the best brother you could ask for, although as a child you didn't think that.  He became one of the finest  Christian man you would want to meet. He took every opportunity to share his faith with others. He will be dearly missed.

Jim will be missed, he was my buddy for many years and I still wonder where I would be today had I never met him.  I had a problem with the booze and other issues.  He would talk to me about my need of getting saved….so one day I thought I would get him “off my back.”  In short I attended church.  A place called Canton Baptist Temple.  I was made new!  I felt different!  I wept!  I was born again!!  I cried out to God, “Please help me quit drinking!  I need help Father!  Please help me!”  The very next morning I poured 2 quarts of beer down the drain!!  And that was 50 years and 4 months ago!

Thanks Brother Jim Hooper for telling me about our Saviour!  And it will be soon I will meet you in Heaven!  Oh, what a day of rejoicing that will be!

…..and thank you Missy for letting me know of your daddy  going Home.
