James Quiet, 42, of San Francisco, CA,  passed away at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital on June 21st, 2022.

James was born on June 23rd, 1979 to Patrica Quiet & Theodore Ross in Pontiac, Michigan. James and his family relocated to California in the summer of 1982. James attended Merced Junior High (1992- 1994) in Merced, CA, then later attended Los Banos High School in Los Banos, CA. Later James received his GED and sharpened his passion for cooking by attending culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu Potrero Hill Campus in San Francisco, CA.

James was a big sports fan, especially basketball and football. His favorite team represented his favorite city, the San Francisco 49ers! Most of James' life was lived in California, though he did relocate to Jacksonville, FL, in the mid-2000s to advance his culinary career. But as it goes, he left his heart in San Francisco and returned home soon after. 

James was predeceased by his parents, Patricia & Theodore. He is survived by his 2-year-old daughter, Sequoia Quiet of San Leandro, CA, and his nephew, Redding Hendershot of San Leandro, CA. Three sisters: Sha'Na Quiet of Merced, CA, Niema Quiet (Tom Hendershot) of San Leandro, CA, & Jamelia Quiet (aka, Jamelia Quiet-Hudson) of Oakland, CA. Two living aunts, Priscilla Ross-Smith of Georgia, and Jacqueline Armstrong of Michigan. And his multiple cousins.

A celebration of life will take place at Little Raven Art Gallery - 1015 Howard St, San Francisco, CA 94103 on Saturday, July 2nd, 2022 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM  PDT (NO Flowers please). Please refer to the Events tab for more information. Appetizers and refreshments will be served.
