IN LOVING MEMORY

James Phillip Johnson

1957 - 2025

Jim Johnson, 68, passed away on October 27, 2025. He was born in Detroit, MI, and grew up in Long Beach, CA.

He proudly served in the US Air Force and later made his home in the Sacramento, CA area for many decades before moving to Decatur, Tennessee.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Cindy; sons Nick (Keeley) and Ian (Rocio); grandchildren Andrew, Ben, Sophia, Cooper, and Camila; sister Louise; brother Frank; and many nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A talented AI composer and computer geek, Jim shared his music on YouTube under the name @jtennessee. His terrific sense of humor and imagination show in the music he produced.

Jim loved Christ and was a faithful Seventh Day Adventist, recently serving with his wife as a literature evangelist team while sharing his faith with enormous sincerity and warmth. His life reflected kindness, humility, and a willingness to help anyone in need.

Jim will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted family man, and loyal friend. His gentle spirit, generous heart, and deep love for his family and community touched many lives. He will be dearly missed!

In accordance with his wishes, Jim donated his body to science and per his request, there will be no funeral. To honor his memory, donations may be made to “Child Impact International”, a mission he deeply supported.

“He sleeps in Jesus, awaiting the blessed hope and the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior.” Titus 2:13
