James's obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of James "Jim" Pervis on January 15, 2025. James was born on November 27, 1936, and lived a life full of humor, charisma and passion.
James is survived by his beloved daughters, Martha Brim and Christina Wood, his son, James Reynolds Pervis, Jr., his brother Andrew Pervis, and his sister Mary Virginia Duncan. He is predeceased by his son, Alex Pervis.
A man known for his great storytelling abilities, James had a talent for entertaining family, friends and all those lucky enough to have crossed his path. His humor and charisma were only outshone by his dedicated love and commitment to his family. The world was certainly a brighter place with James in it.
Sports were a large part of James's life. He was an ardent supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs. Being a big fan of travel, James found joy in airplanes and sailing, with many a story to tell of his adventures across the globe.
Animals were another cause close to James's heart. He fiercely advocated for their rights and well-being, and often shared stories of his encounters with animals in the wild. His love for music, particularly Willie Nelson, was well known and often served as the soundtrack to many of his wonderful tales.
James's life was richly woven with love, humor, adventure, and passion. We ask that you remember him for these qualities and celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man. He will be greatly missed.
