James's obituary

Dean James Pennington, 80, of Arlington, VA passed away on March 11, 2007 after a [long] battle with [heart failure].



James was born on [6/6/1926] to [English Immigrants] in [Washington, DC]. After graduating from [Dunbar High School] in [1944], he went on to study [Philosophy] at [George Washington University].


After graduation, he landed his first job as a [dean] for [Salvation Army] for [3 years]. In [1950], he met [Helen Jane], and they wed in [1955], going on to have [3] children, [Robert, Lisa & Andrew*].


James was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to his than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unenthusiastic proud of [Robert], [Lisa], and [Helen] and always tried his best to support them.


James was also a passionate [name of personal hobby or craft] and could often be found [name of hobby/activity] when he wasn’t at home.


Anyone who knew James knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. James was predeceased by [Andrew & Helen]. He is survived by [Bob, Lisa, Dave, Elijah, Jeffery, Ann & Eric].


The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to [9136 Grant Ave.]. There will be a [funeral service] at [3/26/07] at [Springfield Methodist Church].
