June 4th, 14 years ago my James took me wheeling... on our own (yes poor decision, see dent on rear door of 4 runner.🤣)  up Salmon creek. After digging the rig out 3, or 4 times we decide to have our "picnic" and it starts dumping buckets. In the only way it can in Oregon. Our lunch was a bit nature washed but we were laughing, so hard  covered in mud and soaked through... Thank goodness he had us bring extra clothes to change. We sat and talked the afternoon away watching salmon creek flow. He asked to take a photo near the water and in the process of me turning around he had dropped to his knee....IN A CLAY PUDDLE and just about lost the Beautiful ring he had pulled from the box...as he got stuck and tumbled around in a way only our Turtle could. We were both laugh crying and he then leaned into a rock and asked me to marry him. After saying yes, James had arranged to meet my brothers and a few of my cousins my Aunt and Uncle and Grandma at the pizza parlor in Pleasant Hill. It was a ridiculously imperfectly perfect day. As so many of our days were. 
I miss you, I love you, you left us to soon.

I figured I would start the sharing. I'm going to be writing this to my girls.

Your Dad and I had many friends in common and were in many locations at the same time, but it took the internet dating scene, for us to meet. Your Dad had zero game and was super cheesy and I loved it. He wrote "Gosh Your pretty for this app. Are you the catch of my lifetime 🎣 ?"

Yes he put the emoji to.

Anyways we talked for a month and then he met your Uncle Matt, Aunt Britt, a few of our friends and myself out in a bar after work. We had been celebrating my birthday and watching a Duck game.

Now don't get judgemental on your mom. I had participated in a lot of jello shots. (I mean a substantial amount... my stomach could have been mostly jello.

Your Dad was in head to toe white. He was in his Franz uniform. (If you want to see it I have a photo somewhere of him in it.)

He said "hello" and I said "you smell like dirty grilled cheese." 😅🤣

The rest is history. Our first real date your Dad picked me up from work and we drove to Moe's for slumgolian(sp?) It's clam chowder with tiny shrimps in it. Your Dad and I had many ups and downs and a lot of great adventures, but this is how we started.

I'm sure I will share more. It's all so fresh right now and I miss him so much. Just like he loves and would miss you too. You guys were his everything.
