James David Nails passed away at his home on April 22, 2024. Jim was born October 14, 1959 in Raceland, LA. He was a graduate of Lafayette High School, The University of Louisiana, and earned an MBA from Villanova University as well as adding many other certificates and diplomas to his resume over the course of his career. He worked in various capacities in the Oil and Gas Industry, management with Piccadilly Cafeteria, and as a Project Manager for BellSouth and AT&T.

Jim had a very full life. He played football and basketball in high school, was a bodybuilder and a USL cheerleader in his college days, as well as a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Jim loved spending time golfing, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. But the thing he was the proudest of was being the father of his three children. He enjoyed taking them on vacations, attending their scholastic events, and spent a lot of time coaching soccer, baseball, softball and many other activities.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, William Frank Nails, his mother, Iva Isgitt Nails, and his brother Michael William Nails. He is survived by his former spouse, Amanda Perry Nails, and their children, Jacob Daniel Nails, Alexandra Katherine Nails and Victoria Elizabeth Freeland; his brother and sister-in-law, Steven Frank Nails and Cezanne Nails, his sister and brother-in-law Vicki Nails and Jerry Scafidel, as well as nieces and nephews; Dylan Nails, Michelle Matt, Bruce Cook, Erica Willsey, Nicole Willsey, Dylan Willsey, Sabine Perry, Annika Perry, and Brenna Perry.

There will be a Celebration of Life held for Jim on Saturday, May 25, at First Baptist Church in Broussard from 10 a.m - 12:00 p.m.
