James Moser, a man of quiet demeanor, keen observation, and meticulous attention to detail, was born on October 7, 1942 in Philadelphia Pa. to Harold and Salome Moser, His life journey ended on May 14, 2025. He left an indelible mark of kindness, generosity, and patience that will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know him. His legacy remains in the many lives he touched, in his professional prowess in the world of mechanics, and in the love he extended to everyone he knew.
James, fondly referred to as Jim, was a true aficionado of Linda Rhonstat's style of music, but as an artist enjoyed a wide spectrum which brought him great joy and serenity. His interest in learning was evident in his fondness for documentaries and books, Jim had amassed quite a library on many subjects. An ardent fan of drag racing, he followed the sport keenly, having built his own injected alcohol dragster and later a funny car. The thrill of speed and mechanics was deeply embedded in his personality, he always went the extra mile to make sure his part was beyond expectation. Jim received an Honorable Discharge from the Army on 4/20/1972.
He attended the ART Center school In Los Angles, where he studied Industrial Design, which was as an element in all of his work. He worked for a classic car collector before moving to Grass Valley, and was able to use his talent to restore some beautiful cars to their former glory.
Jim had a profound love for designing and fabricating, a talent he beautifully displayed while working on race cars, motorcycles, and airplanes. His artistry extended to his remarkable ability to letter everybody's restored cars, boats,motorcycles,trailers, commercial vehicles and signs.
Jim found solace in the serene beauty of the California coast, a favorite vacation spot that rejuvenated him.
Among Jim's many life lessons, one remained prominent: "Treat others as you want to be treated." This golden rule guided him throughout his life, influencing his actions and interactions with others. It is a testament to his generosity and humanness, a legacy he passed on to those around him.
A Celebration of Life for James Moser is scheduled to take place on August 16, 2025 at 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Nevada County Horsemen Inc. His memory will be carried in the hearts of his loved ones and he will be sadly missed for his enduring friendship and extraordinary skill.
