James's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James Allen, a dedicated family man, ardent golfer, and faithful servant of his community and Lord, who left us on February 8, 2025. Born on September 9, 1943, James lived an exemplary life marked by devotion to his family, his church, and his passion for golf.

James is lovingly remembered by his wife, Joyce Allen, to whom he was a supportive spouse and lifelong companion of 62 years. He is survived by sisters Linda Teems and Cathy Roach. His memory will be cherished by his sons, Matt and Mark Allen, who were his source of pride. His granddaughters, Bailee (Jeffrey), Savannah Blackstone and Jayden Allen, and his grandson, Taylor Allen (Megan), along with great grandkids Tanner, Gray, Brynlee, Kai, Wyatt, Elijah, Reed, and Reign will honor the wisdom, stories and love that he bestowed upon them. James was predeceased by his mother, Carry Allen, father William Allen and sister Myrtice Haney.

He was owner of James Tax service, where his clients always enjoyed a good conversation. A regular on the local golf course, James enjoyed a good swing and the camaraderie of his fellow players. He loved spending quality time with his family, and these cherished moments together are the ones that his loved ones hold dear. His love and service for El Bethel Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and finance manager was shown in his service, dedication and contribution towards the community.

James held his family and faith close to his heart. His dedication towards his church and the love for his family were the driving forces behind his purpose-filled life. As we mourn his departure, let us remember and celebrate his selfless commitment to the causes he held dear, his unwavering faith, and his enduring legacy.

James' life was a testament of service, love, and dedication. As we bid him farewell, we carry forward his spirit of generosity, kindness, and unwavering faith. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
