I met Jim at the Silver Palace in Oakland about 2007-2013. I always enjoyed my talks with him. I had also lived in Florida so we talked Florida, golf, sports. Easy to be around and real good guy. I just found out about his passing. I am sorry and condolences to family and loved ones.

Uncle Jim married into our family knowing that my brother Brian and I were part of the package. My Aunt Judi let him know our monthly visits would continue even when they married. He took us to Oakland A's games. We watched football. We played pool. We swam. I danced to Rick James in the garage.
We communicated regularly and he made sure he kept up with his grand nephew James Giles Jr and tennis. We talked during tennis majors and Warriors games. He helped me through my Dad's death. He sent money when mom was sick though I told him we were fine.
I fell in love with the Ojays because of Jim.
He was the best uncle anyone could ask for. I loved him so much, I married a James too!

So fun to bump into Jim at the 2015 San Jose Jazz Fest. My Condolences to family & friends. He and Judy were the best next-door neighbors & dearest of friends. Jim was kind, most congenial to all, and an accomplished man! He will be missed.
