Dear Kathy.  Our history has been long and I’ve always thought of you as my sister.  I realize the emotions that have surrounded you and Mike over the last years and also know of a new perspective you’ll now have.  I have precious memories of Mikes calls to me while in his long hospital stays.  He just wanted to chit chat about facing cancer as Doug had done.  I felt honored that he would call and felt a smile that I could brighten his hospital room with a crazy colored quilt.  I now send love and prayers for your peace and comfort as you look forward.  Diane.
Back story— I have very little coordination and I could never get up on water skis.  The very first time Mike took me out on the water with his daughter Kory, I assured him I would never be able to do it.  He promised that he wouldn’t give up on me and he stayed true to that!  He must have tried a million times (or what felt like it) and I finally did it!  He had so much patience and skill!   He took us out several times after that and to this day, he’s still the only boat driver that can successfully pull my clumsy self!   Best wishes to the family at this time…

Mike was one of the hardest working men I have ever known. He didn’t stop until the job was done.

He was dedicated to his beautiful wife and family and would tell me fun stories about each one and how very proud he was of them individually.

Each time he had a church calling, he did it 110%. Always looking for a new and better way to do it. I worked for Mike for 40 years.

He was a good employer and a good friend. We shared many milestones in that time. I look forward to seeing him again in heaven.

God bless and keep you Mike. My condolences to his wonderful family. I have special memories swimming in the beautiful Welch pool during summers in my youth. Mike and Kathy were so generous with their “open pool” policy.  Families are Forever.
