James Michal Hicks, 85, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, July 14, 2025, at St. Rose Dominican Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 6, 1940, in Columbus, Mississippi, to Correa and Arnold Hicks, James was a devoted son, husband, father, and friend. He married his beloved wife, Mary, and together they built a strong and loving family, raising five children: Michelle (48) of Las Vegas, Tia (47) of Las Vegas, Michael (46) of Atlanta, AZ (44) of Las Vegas, and Stephan (43) of Houston. James was also a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren and a doting great-grandfather to 7 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

James dedicated 45 years of his life to Union Pacific Railroad, where he worked with pride and loyalty.

James will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, and the love he had for his family. His loved ones will cherish his gentle spirit and support, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

James Michal Hickey will be forever missed and always remembered. His legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to inspire.
