James Rufus McGinnis, age 63 of Bowling Green, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at his residence.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Robarts Family Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will be at Bowling Green Cemetery.

Mr. McGinnis was preceded in death by his parents Emma Sue McGinnis, Rufus Hiram McGinnis, his son Tyler and his great-granddaughter, Emily Wolf. He is survived by his wife, Gayle McGinnis; his children Brianna Turner (Daniel) and Rebekah Thomas (Joshua); His Grandchildren-Nora, Vivian, Callah and Leah.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. 

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the family will host a private memorial for James in his birthplace of Georgia. At a later date the family will host a memorial for James’ dearest friends.
