McDonough, James Edward of Venice, FL and Cotuit, MA, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 16th, 2020. Born August 14th, 1939 in Boston, MA. James was the youngest of seven children from Edward McDonough and Helen (Lydon) McDonough. He is survived by his brother Paul McDonough of Hingham, MA. Beloved Husband of Patricia (Navicky) McDonough. Father of James McDonough of Roxbury, MA John McDonough of Rehoboth, MA, Lisa Vargas of Braintree MA, Sean Vargas of Springvale ME and his wife Emily, and Tracey McDonough of South Boston, MA. Beloved Grandfather of Kelcy Boyer of Weymouth MA, Marissa Vargas of Bridgewater, MA and Sean Vargas Jr. of Springvale ME. Also survived by many loving, nieces, nephews, cousins, dedicated neighbors and friends. Jim was a dedicated Army National Guard Staff Sergeant for 27 years and formerly of The U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, for 4 years. He worked at the Quincy Fore River Shipyard and as a Truck Driver for Universal Press in Boston for many years. Jim was extremely fond of his cats, enjoyed reading books, fishing and Aviation. Burial services will be held at The National Veterans Cemetery in Bourne,
MA. Dates to be announced later.
