James's obituary

James Ralph Mccann passed away on June 10, 2021, from complications caused by a traffic accident ,where he was a passenger in a vehicle, on his way to go fishing . James was 55 years old. James was a well known auto mechanic for more than 30 years , and made many friends along the way. He was known for his blunt, and often brutal honesty, and had no trouble at speaking his mind. Even if it was hurtfull, and sometimes angers Man, h spoke the truth ,more then most around him! He was proud of this fact, and was someone that all who got to know him, could count on, to tell them exactly how he felt! And we learned to be careful for things asked of him, if we didn't want to hear the truth! In his later years, he mellowed out, and started to do work as a security gaurd, which worked well for him, since he was a tall and good for his size, and had the right attitude for this type of job. James loved to collect knives, swords ,and loved guns and weapons. He was very fond of explosives and enjoyed blowing things up , if he had the chance! He also had a very giving and sweet side, that loved to garden and grow roses and spent many hours just standing around and water the grass and flowers. James also had a big heart, and was often known to take the shirt off his back and give it to anyone in need! He could always be counted to be there for you when promised, and his 'word' was extremely good!! James worked very hard and many hours were given to every job that he took upon himself! He was also very stubborn and would argue a point, even with the devil himself! James had a great love for his dogs that came into his life, and he was heartbroken when he lost his best friend,"Buddy", after 19 years of growing up with his beloved dog. Buddy was completely blind from the age of 3, but that never made a difference in how he made life better for James and all that spent time with him! James asked that Buddy's ashes be put with his own at the time of his death, and have them together ,and then to be scattered up in the mountains, to blow free ,into the sky and the wind! And this wish will be given! Please take the time, now, to read the poem that is a bit long, but is important, for the memory of James, his dog Buddy, and for all that loved James and will miss him. It goes as follows: The day will come when my body will lie upon a white sheet, tucked neatly, upon a hospital bed, on a mattress, with people living and dying, and busy running around. A doctor will determine that my brain is no longer functioning, and that my life has stopped. When this happens, please, do not ask for machines to be hooked up to my body or perform life saving measures to be put on life support. Do NOT call this my 'death bed". Let it be called my "Life bed", and let my body be taken from the hospital and given to help others lead fuller lives. Give my sight to the blind man who has never seen the sunrise, a baby's face, or looked into the eyes of a woman or someone he loved. Give my heart to the person whose own heart has caused them only pain, and has known only pain and fear all his life! Give my blood to the teenager pulled from a car crash so that he may live to see his grandchildren play. Take my bones, muscles, and every fiber, and use it to try and find a way to make a crippled child walk. Take every part of me that can be used to someday help a speechless boy be able to cheer for his favorite baseball team, or hear the crack of the bat when he hits the ball, or let the deaf girl hear the sound of the rain and wind against her window. Burn what is left of me and scatter my ashes to the winds to help the flowers grow. If you must bury something, let it be my faults, my weaknesses, and all my prejudices against my fellow man. Give my sins to the devil. Give my soul to God. If, by chance, you wish to remember me, do it with a kind deed, or word, to someone who needs you. If you do all that I have asked, I will live forever.
