Sending my love and peace to the Maxwell family. Long live Mr. Maxwell.
So sorry for your loss.  The story of you and Jimmy is beautiful.
Robert and family, I am sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. He was a delight to work with over the years. A true professional, always with a smile. Jimmy provided the soundtrack for a lifetime of Carnival memories, for me and for many others. He was a big part of all that we do in this town that makes ours the most unique city in the USA. We will miss him.

My deepest condolences to his family and friends.  He was a lovely human and a great musician and band leader.

I know I will miss him.   Thanks for the memories Jimmy.

Not knowing more of Jimmy than that his two kids are some of the nicest, funniest, most talented, introspective and delightful people you could ever wish to meet, I can see he must have been quite the apple tree from which to fall. Thinking of you Liz & Rob. Much love to the family.

Jimmy Maxwell was a legendary New Orleans bandleader and a close friend of mine for decades. We worked together musically; I sang with his orchestra, he conducted my orchestra in Chicago and I also hired him for my clients. We also shared a wonderful friendship. The courage Jimmy demonstrated to me after his cancer diagnosis in our numerous Zoom chats and lengthy conversations, was incredible. He never lost his sense of humor or his desire to help others--offering advice and sharing his passion and service with the Joseph Campbell Foundation as inspiration. He loved his family dearly and he contributed so much to the musical world. I will miss him more than I can express in this note. May his family find comfort in knowing how much his life and legacy touched others. RIP my friend.

When I was just starting my company, Jimmy played for one of our first Christmas parties at no charge. He was always so thoughtful and such a good, sweet person. I am glad I got to know him thru the years. My prayers are with the family.
I am so thankful for the musical opportunities that Jimmy provided for me.  Playing with Jimmy's band introduced me to music and culture that is unique to New Orleans. I am forever grateful for the experiences I have had working in the Jimmy Maxwell Orchestra and the trust Jimmy put in me and my musicianship.  I will always treasure the fond memories I have of making music with Jimmy.

Our prayers and condolences to the Maxwell family.

Jimmy was New Orleans' singular impresario!! Jimmy, his Dad and Robert all represent the best in sound and rhythm. I am particularly in complete joy by their rendition of "If Ever I Cease to Love" as they made it into a vibrant song filled with Mardi Gras' pleasures, pomp and playfulness.

My friend Patricia Solar and I were walking back to our car one night just as Jimmy was closing up the club in the French Quarter. I don't recall exactly what had blown up in my life just then, but Jimmy took one look at my face, turned around and unlocked the door.  He poured scotch for us, then led us back into the club, sat down at the piano and ordered me to sing my heart out - for a couple of hours.  That moment stands out as one of the most gracious gifts I have ever received.

New Orleans has lost a true gentleman. His contribution to New Orleans Carnival was immeasurable. He will be sorely missed.
