Matt was the single-most positive person I have ever known. It was impossible to get Matt angry, or even slightly upset. Matt only cared about doing what was morally right all the time. There is nothing he would not do for someone he loved. Matt was closer to me than most of my own family. He always had the wisdom of a father but with the relatability of a brother. In our home we did not have a guest room, it was “Matt’s room”. He was uncle to our daughters, and a brother to me. Matt always marched to the beat of his own drum. He was so incredibly open minded about everything. Never drew a line in the sand. If something made sense to Matt and seemed to be the right thing to do, he had no problem changing his mind or adjusting his morals. The countless hours of “doing nothing” I spent with Matt, were some of the happiest moments in life. I know I will see Matt again on the other side and I know he will be sitting there waiting for me with the minute-maid lemonade and 7X distilled vodka with that famous smile on his face stroking his beard. The world is dimmer now that you are gone. I will miss you more than I could ever put into words.
